Mission Trips

Elementary Missions Week

All of our Preschool - 5th Grade classrooms are taking a close look at LIVING WATER this week. With the help of videos, songs, games, true stories, and other activities - we are learning just how blessed we are to know Jesus, "The Water of Life" and to have clean water available everywhere we go. has been a very rewarding week, watching "my" students learn more about their need for Jesus and the life-giving water that only He can offer. They have been challenged to realize that "apart from Him (we) can do nothing".

It has been a very rewarding week, watching "my" students learn more about their need for Jesus and the life-giving water that only He can offer. They have been challenged to realize that "apart from Him (we) can do nothing".

In addition to this, it has been amazing to see the great compassion the students have for children in other parts of the world who don't have access to clean drinking water. On Tuesday, everyone was challenged to count their blessings, by counting the number of separate sources of clean, fresh water they have in their own homes.

Many students donated $.25 (for each of their family's water sources) to Compassion International's Water of Life fund, which provides water filtration systems for African families in need. Several students were even moved to give the contents of their entire piggy banks for this cause.

Just one of these extraordinary filtration systems can filter more than 1 million gallons of filthy water and turn it into safe drinking water for an entire family (for a lifetime).  A gift of only $79 can literally save lives!

Tomorrow your son or daughter will have the opportunity to see one of these filtration systems in action. Each class will bring a gallon of dirty water (actually a gallon of purified water to which I added 1/4 cup of organic top soil), filter it, and drink it - if they wish. It is my prayer that our stutdents will realize how truly blessed they are and continue to pray for ministries which provide clean water and The Gospel, around the world.
