Liberty Christian Academy uses the BJU Press curriculum in preschool through high school, in all subjects. BJU Press focuses on four significant components – biblical worldview, academic rigor, critical thinking, and technology solutions – to build a solid curriculum framework. This framework helps us carry out our mission to equip our students to serve God and impact the world through biblical thought and action.
- Biblical Worldview – Biblical integration is key to formulating a Christian worldview. The curriculum allows faith and learning to work together to shape each student’s educational experience. This Christian worldview permeates our curriculum materials, and encourages our students to think about knowledge and experience through a biblical lens.
- Academic Rigor – BJU Press defines academic rigor as “…the educational experience that engages students in content appropriate to their academic level and helps them learn to analyze, evaluate, and ultimately create.” This component of the curriculum ensures our students are prepared to think critically in their personal and professional lives.
- Critical Thinking – Critical thinking is the ability to evaluate, analyze and synthesize information so that the quality of understanding and knowledge is improved. This is fostered through discussion, discovery activities, and writing assignments.
- Technology Solutions – BJU Press has developed various resources for parents and students such as Bible apps that coordinate with the Bible curriculum, homework helps, and other online resources. At Liberty Christian Academy we are committed to providing opportunities for our students to utilize technology as a tool for learning.
